DIY Hand lotion
chemical free (and as organic as you want it to be)
This is a super simple recipe, shelf stable, and works great. I will list the basic components and ratio's, these can be perfected on and modified as you see fit.
Lotion
1/2 c. Oil (This can be Olive oil, Canola, Linseed, almond, or almost any other, the scent will remain though so choose one with a light scent, or none at all.)
1/4 c wax (can be bees wax or I used paraphin wax that I had from making a few candles)
1/4 c Coconut oil
t or so of vanilla extract or a drop or 2 of scent/essential oil of your choice
bit of Vit E oil if desired
Put everything in an old glass jar, Pint or so is fine. Add an inch or 2 of water to a sauce pan and start warming the water. Put a loose lid on the jar with the ingredients in and place in the water bath. Med low heat for about 15 min or so will get everything melted. Either stir well or give it a good shake to combine. Pour into smaller containers for use and enjoy!
